Have you ever been looking to rent an apartment only to see the words “NO SECTION 8” written at the bottom? Well, (in Oregon at least) that will no longer be legal. On Monday, the Oregon senate voted to ban discrimination against section 8 renters. That means landlords in any area cannot refuse to rent to you simply because you’re on section 8 housing assistance. This will make it easier for potential renters to get an apartment in nicer areas and open up the entire apartment market considerably.
This is great news for residents of Oregon! Hopefully the rest of the nation follows suit!
