How to Qualify for section 8, things to keep in mind…

Firstly, remember that your income must be below 50 percent of your area’s median income.

You must be a legal citizen of the United States or have an eligible immigrant  status.

To complete your application you will need a few things. Keep these handy when applying. (tax records, pay stubs, birth certificate and references).

Because most areas have long waiting lists, you may want to apply in more than  one location. So dont be affraid to apply to many different states and or countys.

Typed applications are not accepted so make sure you fill it out in pen or pencil.  Make sure you include the names of everyone who will be living in the house. You  will need your current and previous rental history, along with your landlords’  names as well as your current address and phone number. You will need to provide bank statements and employer contact information.  Your application will ask for an explanation as to why you are applying for Section 8 housing.  Try your best to be clear and  honest, and remember that you may be interviewed before recieving a  Section 8 housing voucher.

Keep trying and you will qualify! Just dont stop trying.
