Good news, Colorado! Sequestration cuts have not affected your Section 8 (yet)

The Colorado Section 8 program was supposed to be hit with a $500 million cut in federal funding due to the sequester. While the funding slash will still take place, it is now NOT expected to impact section 8 recipients. The cuts are mainly for capital expense and will not affect the end user for at least 2 years.

After the 2 years, cuts are expected to trickle down to the voucher holders, but even then the vouchers will not be reduced for current holders. It most likely means that authorities will have to limit the amount of new vouchers given out each year.

This is great news for Colorado Section 8 voucher holders!
