How many hours working minimum wage to afford an Apt? Where does your state rank?
We all know there are not enough Section 8 vouchers to go around. We’ve all seen the crazy lines and years long waiting lists just to be considered for one. Remember this?
The thought used to be that section 8 was only needed for the unemployed. A new study proves that’s not the case. According to the National Low Income Housing Coalition in NO STATE can a person working 40 hours a week at a minimum wage job afford a 2 bedroom apartment at a fair market rate. This is truly eye opening!
In some states, a person would need to work well over 100 hours a week just to be able to afford an apartment.
